I plan to visit Shangri-la on this coming Feb. I would like to know the best way to go to Yading from Old town of Shangri-LaThanks

You can take a coach from Shangri-La to Daocheng first and the bus ride takes around 11h. Once arrival, spend one night in Daocheng and charter a car to Yading the next morning.
