Is it better to stay overnight just outside Huanglong Park or go to Songpan?

I've read that there's only one (very touristy) hotel near the park. I'll be coming by bus from Jiuzhaigou so would probably want to spend 2 nights there so I can enjoy a whole day in HL without rushing.

Actually, it is not suggested to stay overnight in Huanglong Park as there are limited hotels there and the price is quite high, besides, you may feel uncomfortable due to the high altitude. Some people may choose to stay near Jiuzhaigou or Chuanzhusi Town or Songpan. There are many hotels ranging from small guesthouses to luxurious star hotels in Chuanzhusi. The hotels in Songpan are more economical and you may also have chance to look around this ancient town. By the way, it takes over one hour to drive from Huanglong to Songpan.
