changing visa from s2 to businesstourist

Hello! I have two questions.My s2 type is going to expire on 4th of next month. I was supported by my father to come to China but now he isn't in PRC. Can I still extend my S2 type using his documents and information i.e. his residence permit number,his passport copy and other relevant documents,even if he is not in China?Secondly,if it's not possible to extend the s2 type,then can I change it to business or tourist L type without leaving China?I would be grateful to get a response.Thank you.

Farwah, yes, you can still extend your S2 type by using his documents and information even if he is not in PRC. It is worth a try!

Dear, if you cannot extend the S2 type, it is possible for you to convert the S2 type to a business M type or tourist L type without leaving China. You should do that at the exit and entry administration bureau of the local public security bureau.

Thank you so much,Hansen! One last question,do I need to go to the entry exit bureau where my father got his permit from or I can do it anywhere? I'm living in Shanghai now and my father got his permit from Beijing. So is it necessary for me to go to Beijing for the extension? Thanking you in advance. 😊
