About:China Travel Tips

Hi, I'm a South African woman currently living and working in China.

I brought a couple of cosmetic products from home for personal care, and some were bought when I went to Hong Kong. These include; hair shampoo and conditioners, 3-4 jars or body lotion, some deodorant etc. Now I recently purchased more hair and beauty products online (taobao) for my afro-textured hair. Will these items be allowed in the checked luggage? I will pack them all in a safe bag and declare them if need be. I also have 3 bags, an electric blanket and a duvet. Since it's more luggage than allowed, I am willing to pay for it.

Hi, there! As I know, these cosmetic products can be put in the checked luggage. If the total value exceeds CNY5,000, you should make a declaration when entering PRC.
