You need to prepare the require documents first including your passport and its copy, a filled-out application form with a recently-taken passport-style photo attached, an invitation letter from Chinese tourism bureau, a letter from the local travel agency, travel itinerary, and recent 3-month bank statement.
Next, submit the application to the embassy of PRC to apply for it.
