About:Datong Transportation

How long is the fastest I can get from Pingyao to Datong?

I see the best can be bullet train to Taiyuan South but then from there I do not know how to get to DT.
How long does it take the bus? and what about by car/taxi?

Well, you can take a direct train to DT from Pingyao Railway Station (about 6.5 to 8 hours).

Or, take a bullet train to Taiyuan South from Pingyao Gucheng Railway Station (about 40 minutes). Upon arrival, take bus line 11 to Taiyuan Railway Station (about 35 minutes). Walk west for about 400 yards to Taiyuan General Bus Station. Then, take a bus to DT (about 4 hours).

If by car, the trip takes about 5 hours, and the fare may be around CNY 1,000.
