Hi, I am going to Xiamen mid October and intend to travel to Fuzhou and Guangzhou. Perhaps would like to stop over at Shantou if it is interesting. May I know if the weather is good. Typhoon season over? Appreciate you could recommend hotels and suggestions on how I should go about? Will be travelling alone on some sectors. Thanks.

October is one of the best seasons to travel to Xiamen. The average temperature is 23°C/73°F, so a T-shirt and a light coat are appropriate. As for typhoon, it can only be predicted around one week in advance, so you are suggested to check the weather forecast before departure. There are various hotels in Xiamen. Some people may choose to stay near Zhongshan Road, a prosperous area with convenient access to tourist spots. You can travel between these cities via trains or buses.
