About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

72 hour free transit - I've had to return home for an emergency

Planned to fly from Shanghai to HK after flying in from Vancouver. Had to return to Vancouver for an emergency - what are the implications? Ie I'm about to break the Visa rule by flying back to original departure point.

Mark, if so, I’m afraid you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Shanghai, you need to apply for a visa in advance.
