Transport options between Garze, Daocheng and Degen (shangri-la)

Hello, I am travelling around Sichuan in October this year.

Is it possible to travel by bus/ train from GZ to Daocheng?
And is is possible to carry on to Degen (shangri-la) from Daocheng by any means possible, all without having to cross into Tiebt?
Finally, in Daocheng, will the Yading National Park still be acessible for all of october?

Well, GZ covers quite a large area, including Kangding, Daocheng, etc. You will go from Kangding to Daocheng, right? Take a direct bus to Daocheng from Kangding Bus Station. The bus departs at 6:00, and the fare is CNY 124.

From Daocheng to Shangri-la, take a direct bus from Daocheng Bus Station. The bus departs at 6:10, and the fare is CNY 107.5.

Yes, it is open in October. Have fun! :)

Thanks for the reply, I actually meant the town of Garzé to daocheng?
And is the shangri-la bus ok to take without special Tibetan permit etc. As it looks like the main road crosses the Tibet boarder?

Oh, I see. I am sorry that there is no direct bus between them. You may make a transit at Kangding.

Yes, you can take the bus without special Tibetan Permit. ;)
