About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

What type of free visa do I need for 17 hours in Shanghai?

My original flights starts in Mexico-Shanghai-Taiwan but for the flight back I have 12 hours to get around the city; my flight is from Taiwan- Shanghai-Mexico; I would like to visit during these hours the city what type of Visa should I will request?

You don´t need any kind of visa.
Both routes qualify you for the 24h transit and there´s no need to apply for a visa.
If you wanna leave the airport you should ask for a temporary entry permit at the immigration.
