About:China Visa Exemption

US green card holder with Indian Citizenship

Travelling from USA to India via Shanghai (layover in Shanghai is 15 hours). Arrival and departure is on the same day. Will I be able to get a 24 or 72 hour transit visa upon arrival at the airport? If yes, then what is the process and will I be allowed to leave the airport?

R, you can get the 24 hour direct transit in Shanghai. After arrival at Shanghai airport, you can go to the immigration office to apply for a temporary stay permit and then you can leave the airport. The stay permit is free of charge.
