The temperature of Beijing and Xian in October may be 50~70F. Shanghai, Chongqing, and Yichang can be a little bit warmer at 60~75F. It is advised you pack some shirts and thin jackets. Shorts are not really necessary. There might be some rainy days. But it won't rain heavily. No worry!
