About:Chinese Embassies and Consulates

i need a crew visa for my job, but want to also travel to china as a tourist on my own time.

how do I do?

Jane, if you will go sightseeing when you perform your tasks in PRC as a crew, you can use the crew C type entry permit to travel.
But if enter PRC for sightseeing purpose only, you need to apply for a tourist L type for that.
