About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

I came to Mongolia through China but since my connection time was 5 hours

I didn't leave the airport but on the way back to UK I have 22 hour connection time and dont want to stay at the airport. But since I'm flying back home, does the free transit visa apply to me!?

Nikki, you mean you will travel like this UK-PRC-Mongolia-PRC-UK? If yes, because your layover time for both transits is less than 24 hours respectively, you can enjoy the 24 hour direct transit for both legs of your trip. You just need to apply for a temporary stay permit at the immigration office if you want to leave the airport and the permit is free of charge.
