About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi i am visiting shanghai for 3 days from the 22nd-25th of October for a quick food tour

on my way back to Australia via Denpasar. I believe that as i am an Australian citizen i then qualify for the 144 hour visa and do not need to apply for a tourist visa. Is this correct?

Ben, if the country you fly from is different from Indonesia, you will qualify for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai.

Hi Frank
Thanks for your reply but i have some friends living in Shanghai that have told me even if you have a ticket that forwards on to a different country in some cases many of their friends have been denied. I am an Australian citizen and the ones who were denied also were. They were working professionals strictly their for tourism so i have been advised to play it safe and apply for a tourist L type. Have you heard of any cases where people are denied even if they follow protocol?

Many Thanks
Ben
