On my trip in October I am planning to travel from Luoyang to Jiaozuo.

What transportation is the most convenient? And is it necessary to book in advance?

It's suggested to take the direct coach from Luoyang Bus Station. The bus schedules are from 06:20 to 19:40 at intervals of 20-40 mins. The ticket fare is CNY 33-37 per person.
In addition, the booking system only has Chinese version. Don't worry. You don't need to book them in advance. Just purchase the ticket when you arriving at the bus station. :)
