harbin to snowtown in january 2017

Question

We are a family of 3 wanting to stay in Snowtown for a couple of nights. Trying to find recent info on transport. I hear there is a direct bus, but is it better to catch train to Halin and back track to Snowtown. Also we fly out if Mudanjiang so need to find out if it is easy to get drivers in Snowtown and what cost approximately to get from Snowtown to Mudanjiang airport, travel time in winter? Thanks

You can take a direct bus from Nangang Bus Station near Main Railway Station. The buses depart at 6:40 and 12:10, and the trip takes about 5 hours. The fare is CNY 120 per person.Or, you can take a train to Hailin (about 4 to 5 hours). Next, take a bus to Changting Town. Upon arrival, take a taxi to Snow Town.Certainly, the first mode of transport is more convenient for you.Yes, you can easily hire a car to the airport from Snow Town. The fare may be around CNY 400. The trip takes about 1 to 1.5 hours.  ;)

Thanks for your reply Pepe, do you have any recommendations for places to stay in Snowtown please. I also hear Dongsheng area (Snow Valley) is cheaper too. Did you enjoy your visit and was it worth it.

The visit was quite unforgetable. It is really a fairy land of snow. The Snow Valley is also very beautiful. If time permits, you can go to visit both of them. You may consider staying at the hostels at Snow Valley. There are many hostels for you to choose from. Just walk in and check in. :)

thanks Pepe, im just worried being busy season it will be hard to get a room without booking ahead, we are wanting to go for sure
