About:FAQ of Chinese Visa Application

Employer will not give release letter. what to do ? who to ring for advice ?

our current school is refusing to give me and my girlfriend release papers in order to transfer to another school.
- our contract will be finished in November 2016
our working Z visa has been extended from this september 2016 to september 2017 even tho we asked for it to be extended for only 3 months so we could finish our current contract.
- 100% the school will not give our release papers or FEC or recommendation letter
- we tried to come to a mutual agreement for a 2nd year contract but the school will not meet our salary expectation. ( our salary is the lowest of the low) no holidays included work all year around except for chinese holidays.

We need help or any advice as we cannot transfer from this school to another school. If we can somehow transfer our z type to tourist L type and then eventually upgrade to a new z type??

John, the best solution is to negotiate with the school and ask for the release letter, otherwise, I'm afraid you can't directly transfer to another school. You mentioned that you want to convert your Z type to L type and then to Z type, but I think it's hard to do that. In case that you can't get the release letter, you are advised to leave China, apply for a new Z type, and then return.

Is there any department over foreigners in china that could help get in contact with the school to force them to give the release papers as it is our right to get them? its just such a hassle to travel back home and re apply for a new one.

Will re applying for a new visa at home over ride our current one?
