24 hour stay in Beijing

Hi

We are planning a trip to Beijing, however it is less than 24 hours. It is a flight from Bangkok to Kuala lumpur to Beijing and then from Beijing to Kuala Lumpur back to Bangkok. I am wondering if it is Visa free or if we will need to apply for one since it is less than 24 hours?
We are an Australian and British couple.

Thanks

Sam

Sam, I’m afraid you cannot enjoy the 24 hour direct transit in Beijing if you travel like that because you will fly back to Kuala Lumpur after stopping in Beijing. You need to apply for a tourist L type in advance.
