Hello, i wish to apply for a visa to visit my fiance in China. He works in beijing.

My fiancé works in china. we are yet to get married. What shall I need to apply for an entry permit to visit him?

Tahira, if so, you cannot apply for the S type and you can apply for a tourist L type to enter PRC to visit your fiancé. You need to provide your passport and copy of its data page, a filled-out application form, a passport-style photo, and an invitation letter from your fiancé.
