Problems with work permits

Hi, I used to work in Beijing and had my foreign expert certificate. Since finishing in Beijing I have been offered two different jobs in Shanghai and both times the application for the employment license was denied. I have never found out the reason. I really don't understand how this could keep happening as I already used to have the FEC. Has anyone had any similar experiences? What should I do now? Should I make a conclusion that I just cannot ever work in China again?

Marion, the reason why your application was denied is because the policy has been stricter now than before.
You can try to apply for the alien employment permit if the FEC is difficult to get.

Hi Kathy,

Do you know if I can apply for a new alien employment license with a new employer if my two previous alien employment licenses have been rejected (with 2 different companies)? I am wondering if there is a record now in the system that my applications were rejected twice? I still don't know the reason for either of them.
