About:Hong Kong Airport Taxi

Discovery Bay - taxi or private car service?

I booked a hotelroom at Auberge Discovery Bay, near Disney, for a layover at the Hong Kong Airport. It looks like taxis are about $HK 125, plus luggage charges for 3 passengers. The hotel charges $HK 500 each way for a private car. How do I compare the additional luggage charges to equally compare between the two choices? How hard is it to get a private taxi back from a hotel?

Hi, Cindy! The small luggage is free of charge, while each piece of luggage put in the trunk charges HKD 5. If you have three large pieces of luggage, the total fare may be around HKD 140 from HKIA to hotel. It is more economical to take a cab than private car.

You can easily get a cab back to HKIA from hotel. Don't worry!

Thanks so much for your information. The HK airport website didn't say how much the extra pieces were.

What are your thoughts about the return trip? Will a taxi to the airport be easy to find from the hotel? I'm not sure how out of the way it is.

The cab fare about the return trip won't have large difference. And generally speaking, it won't be difficult for you to find a cab from your hotel. Don't worry. :)
