Express Visa Appointment

My arrival date in China is the 7th September however the earliest appointment available to apply for a visa was the 6th September. Can I make an earlier appointment to coincide with the arrival date?

Thanks.

If you apply from the CVASC in London, it seems you have to make an appointment. But if you go to the CVASC in Manchester or Edinburgh, the appointment is not compulsory.
