About:China Bank Acount, Credit Card, Traveler's Cheque

Can I use bank of Ireland visa debit card in Hong Kong and Guangzhou?

My son is going to Guangzhou for 3 months and then Hong Kong for 3 months, will he be able to use his bank of Ireland card at ATM there?

As I know, he can withdraw money at ATM machines, which have the symbol of VISA. Or, he can also do it at the bank counters.
