Hi, I plan to travel to China for a holiday in July/August 2017.Can I apply for a tourist entry permit at the end of December 2016 if I already have my flight and hotel bookings?How long is the entry permit valid after it has been issued?Thank you.

The earliest time you can apply is April or May in 2017. Because you plan to travel to PRC in July/August 2017, you are advised to apply for it one month earlier before it expires.  Usually, a single entry tourist L type is valid for 3 months after it is issued.
