Debbie, if you go there for tourism purpose, you need to apply for a tourist L type. You should first prepare the relevant documents: your passport and its copy, the application form, a passport-style photo, and proof of transportation and accommodation arrangement. And then go to the embassy of PRC between 15:00 and 17:00 every Tuesday and Thursday to make an appointment for the interview and submit the application to apply for it.0
