Xian to Hukou

We plan to start from Xian to visit Yan'an and Hukou by bullet train or bus whichever is more convenient and comfortable. Is it advisable to stay overnight at Yan'an first before visiting Hukou or visiting Hukou first, then spend a night at Yan'an. How many nights do you think is sufficient to visit Luoyang and Huashan. Is March an ideal time to visit these two places?

It is advisable to go to Yan'an first before visiting Hukou. The bullet train from XA to Yan'an only takes around 2.5 hours. Stay overnight at Yan'an and then take bus to Hukou next morning. I think two days are enough to visit Luoyang. As for Huashan, one day is ok, but you may spend one night on the mountain if you want to see the sunrise or sunset. It is no problem to visit these two places in March, but the temperature on the mountain will be a bit low, so you are suggested to take heavy clothes.
