Which is a better choice for visa application?

Hi, I am going to China in a few months now. Which would be a better option for me, as a first-timer, to apply for visa? F type or L type? Because I heard that it could be easier for us to apply for an F type. I haven't contacted our embassy yet here in the Philippines about it.

Gian, if you cannot get an invitation letter from an entity or unit in PRC, you cannot apply for the F type.
If you go to PRC for tourism purpose only, a tourist L type is a better choice.
