Is the subway Line 6 still in operation? I am reading contradictory information on the operational status of the airport express.

Yes, you can buy a Sim card at the convenience stores inside the airport. You may consult the staff for its exact location. Or, you can buy the card at China Mobile braches in the downtown area. No, subway line 6 is closed these days. It will reopen in the first half of 2017. :)
