About:China Green Card (Permanent Residence Permit)

D visa application residing 9 months a year on Q2 type?

In order to apply for d type you need to reside in China for 9 months a year consecutively. Can I reside 9 months a year on a Q2 type?

(I'm aware I will have to exit and really enter every 3 months on Q2 type)

Will, you need to stay in China for five consecutive years and each year to stay at least 9 months, so I'm afraid you can't apply for D type entry permit at present.

That didn't answer my question at all. I am asking whether a temporary residence permit is needed for those 9months. Or you can reside on a visa that doesn't have a temporary residence permit.

I’m afraid you need to apply for a Q1 type so that you can have a temporary stay permit. And then you can reside in PRC for 9 months each year.

Also not what I'm asking. The D visa simply states I need to reside in China for 9months of the year. It doesn't say whether I need to reside on a temporary residence permit for those 9months. Or I just have to be in country for 9months of the year.
