Pingyao city walls closed?

I have recently heard that the city walls are being renovated. Are they closed for their entire length? Or are there some sections open that can still be walked? We will be there in early September, and will be disappointed if we cannot walk along the old city walls. Thanks for any current information you can provide.

The city wall is open as usual now. I read a piece of news that the renovation invited bits in late Jul. so several sections of it may be closed some time in the following month. You'd better check this again before heading for it.
