About:China Work Visa

Hi, I am a Turkish citizen holding a Turkish passport only.

However, I studied Commerce Management in Australia (4 years bachelors degree) and stayed there for 6,5 years between 1996-2002. Will I be able to get a Z type visa? I heard northern cities are tougher to get a Z type but somehow in the Guangdong region its more flexible, is this so?
Another question is if I enroll in a Chinese university etc to learn Mandarin, am I eligible to work there as an English teacher during my studies, if so how many hours can I work per week/month?

Thank you so much..!

ATILIM, it’s possible for you to get a work Z type. Based on what I know, if you have found a job and get the relevant documents prepared, it’s not that difficult to get a work Z type.
As for your third question, if you will be a student, I’m afraid you cannot work as a teacher. You cannot use the student X type to work.

Hi Biber, thank you for your prompt reply. I hope I could make my concern clear; as you know many of the schools (especially in the northern cities like Beijing etc..) require and want to hire native speakers and teachers only from countries whose mother tongue and official language is English like USA, England, Australia etc..
So do you think me being a Turkish citizen will not be a problem to get a Z type official visa?

Thank you in advance.

Well, you are right. It's easier to get a Z type in sountern provinces like Guangdong. It's not easy to get it of you are not a native speaker. However, as you have a bachelor degree of Australia, you may still be able to get it.

Hi Biber, thank you for your kind reply again. Have you yourself taught in China? If so, which part of China would you recommend? Grazie, ciao..
