About:China Visa on Arrival

I'm confused about the 144-hour visa-free transit

ill be in-transit NRT-LAX with a six (6) day layover in Shanghai, arriving at PVG, and departing from PVG-LAX, do i make application on arrival at the airport? thank you

Larry, you are eligible for the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai. You need to inform the carrier that you want to use the 144 hour free transit in Shanghai and then apply for the free transit when you arrive at Shanghai airport.
