jinshanling to simatai: possible again

Question

I would like to hike from Jinshanling to Simatai, but read that it is closed:- is it open yet?- if not is there a way to hike though the country?- who has advice to stay in a local village?- who would like to join me either this weekend or early next week, or somewhere between 22-25 August?Thank you so much!Maaike

No. The hiking route from Jinshanling to Simatai is still blocked. You can only visit either Jinshanling section or Simatai section. There are some hotels or farmhouses nearby the Jinshanling Great Wall, the camp site is also available at the foot of the mountain. For Simatai, you can stay overnight in Gubei Water Town or go to the Simatai Folk Culture Village for accommodation.
