Octopus (On Hold or Sold Card) or Airport Express Travel Pass?

Hi all, I need help regarding travel pass. I am going with 7 adults and 3 kids for 7 days. we r staying at Shatin. Travel mode will be mostly MTR and also buses. Should we buy airport express travel pass or octopus card? There are two types of octopus card also. On Loan or Sold Octopus Card. Appreciate all feedback. A bit headache to be the planner for a big group of family! Thanks!

You are advised to buy On-loan Standard Octopus Cards, with which you can ride on Airport Express, MTR, buses, taxis, trams, ferries, and even go shopping. Each adult needs to pay HKD 50 as the refundable deposit, and HKD 100 as the stored value. Each child aged 3 to 11 needs to pay HKD 50 as the refundable deposit and HKD 20 as the stored value. May you have a wonderful trip with your family! :)
