Do we need a visa for flight into Beijing then to Tianjin next day sail to Japan

We will be flying from US to Beijing staying over night at a hotel. The next day we will be bused to Tianjin to our Princess cruise ship. The first port of call is Japan. The last stop is Sydney. We then fly back to USA.
