Application for tourist visa without air ticket

Hi, I'm a Malaysian and I'll be traveling to China from Seoul (and return to Seoul thereafter) on 24th or 25th August, depending on other party's schedule. Hence I have not yet made flight booking. Is it possible for me to apply for Visa now? How fast is the processing period?
