Why is the visa soo expensive for a 10 day trip? If I go I person to the Chinese Consulate, what is the price? Thanks

It will cost USD 140 no matter you go there in person or entrust someone else to do it for you. If possible, you can try to apply for a 10-year tourist L type and it costs the same, but it will be preferable compared with the single-entry tourist L type.
