About:Hong Kong MTR - East Rail Line

From HKIA to Louhu, do I need to transfer different trains? How long it takes?

I arrive HKIA will be 6:40pm and my friend will pick me up at Shenzhen Louhu.
I would like to know:
1. Do I need to transfer different train during the time?
2. How long to get to Luohu?
3. At that time I reach Luohu how long to pass the custom house?
Thank you very much!

Yes, you need to transfer different trains. Take Airport Express from HKIA to Tsing Yi Station, and change to MTR Tung Chung Line to Lai King Station. Next, transfer to Tsuen Wan Line to Prince Edward Station, and change to Kwun Tong Line to Kowloon Tong Station. Then, transfer to East Rail Line to Lo Wu Station. The whole trip takes about 1.5 hours. The fare totals HKD 60.

Or, you may take bus line A43 from Airport (GTC) Station to Sheung Shui Railway Station. Then, change to MTR East Rail Line to Lo Wu. The fare totals HKD 54.9, and the trip takes about 75 minutes.

Upon arrival, it takes 15 to 30 minutes to cross the border.
