Change tourist visa for student X type while in China

Hello, I am currently in Shanghai with a multiple-entry tourist L type. I am going to study at Fudan University one semester (from September to December) and wish to change my tourist L type for the student X type while in PRC (I already have the JW202 form and the admission letter). Can I do it? What do I need and where can I do it? I have the mexican nationality.

It’s possible for you to change L type to student X type in PRC.
You need to prepare the required documents first: your passport, the application form, a half-length color photo, valid registration form of temporary residence, the admission notice and JW form.
And then go to the exit and entry administration of the local PSB to submit the application to change the L type to X type.

Hello,

Today I went to the entry-exit Bureau but I could not change my tourist L type for the student X type. The officials told me I need an "Applying form for international students in Shanghai". Do you know where can I get this form or what can I do?

I never heard of such kind of an application form and I only know the visa application form, and you can download the form at this website or at the official website of the embassy of PRC. If you are still confused, maybe you can inquire about it at the entry-exit bureau.
Or you can go back to your home country to apply for the student X visa.

Hello,
I already went to a lot entry-exit bureaus and they all tell me the same thing. I need an "Introduction letter" that the university gives you to confirm you are indeed an enrolled student. The university won´t give you the letter until the registration day.
