About:China Transit Visa

im planning to go to mongolia via beijing airport. Any helpful suggestion will be much appreciated.

i am a filipino citizen planning to go to mongolia ( non visa country) via Beijing airport. Do i need to apply for a transit G type entry permit? Do I need to apply it in my country or in Beijing? thanks a miilion.

If you will stay in Beijing for not more than 24 hours, you don’t need to apply for a transit G type because you can make use of the 24 hour direct transit.
But if it’s more than 24 hours, a transit G type is needed and you should apply for it in your home country.

i understand... but is it possible to roam around the city within the 24 hours time? - or i just need to be in the airport and wait for my connecting flight to mongolia? - thanks a lot.

You can apply for a temporary stay permit which is free of charge at the immigration inspection office and then you can leave the airport and roam around the city within 24 hours.
