About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

From when does the time start for the 72 hours

I have a booking to arrive Beijing at 3:15 pm on Thursday and leave on Sunday on the 7:30 pm flight. This is 4 hrs and 15 minutes over 72 hours. Can I get the 72 hour transit visa?

Susan, it's possible that you can get the 72-hour free transit. I heard someone say that he contacted Beijing Immigration Office and was replies that the 72-hour free-stay period in Beijing starts from 00:00 the day following passengers' arrival.
