can i come earlier then university opening date & stay with my chinese friend?

I got admitted in Chinese university and got X1 Student Visa. University opens in mid of September but i want to come to China 1 month Earlier so is it possible if i stay with my Chinese friend and he can provide me Residence permit to live with him? And when university opens then i can move to University Dormitory and then i can revise residence permit procedure with University?

You can enter earlier than the university date and stay with your friend. But usually, you should apply for the residence permit within 30 days after your entry.

That residence permit has to be offered by my Chinese friend? As university is closed because of summer vacations so i can not get it from university. I have Student X1 type.

Dear, your friend cannot provide you the residence permit. You should apply for the residence permit at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB. You need to register yourself at the local PSB within 24 hours after your entry.
