Would it be possible to get 72 hour visa free for Beijing if returning to point of origin although not direct as flight would be via Qatar or UAE to return to Oman, Thanks for any advice.

Kim, I’m afraid you cannot enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing if you hold Oman passport. You need to apply for a transit G type or tourist L type ahead of your journey.

If you hold Australia passport and you will travel like this: Oman-Beijing(less than 72 hours)-Qatar/UAE-Oman, you can enjoy the 72 hour free transit in Beijing.
