About:China Visa

Changing chinese work visa to tourist L type/business M type

I currently have a chinese work Z type (with residence permit). It expires on September 2. I will not be renewing the work Z type. Can I convert (apply for) a tourist or business type while in PRC, or do I have to leave the country?

Rex, it’s possible for you to convert the work Z type to a tourist L type or business M type before Z type expires. And usually, it’s easier to get a tourist L type. You don’t need to leave the country and can change it at the exit and entry administration of the local PSB.
