What type of Visa in needed for Perth to Shanghai to Hong Kong to Perth for a tourist

So all flights and accommodation need to be booked beforehand?

Hi Juanita! If you hold Australian passport, it's possible that you can use the 144-hour free transit facility in Shanghai, so no entry permit is necessary to apply in advance. You can apply for the free transit upon arrival but you need to inform the carrier before arrival. Accommodation isn't required. You should book a flight from Perth to Shanghai and Shanghai to Hong Kong. You don't have to book the ticket from HK to Perth.
