About:How to Travel to China without a Visa

Auckland - Guangzhou - Wuhan - Rome

Ni hao

We have New Zealand passports and are flying on China Southern Airlines AKL/CAN/WUH/FCO & return.
1) The transit times are 4 hours in CAN 1 hour in WUH. Can you confirm that we should be eligible for the 24 hour transit visa?
2) Is the flight CAN/WUH considered a 'domestic flight' & if so will we need to go through immigration arrivals in CAN or do we stay as 'International Transfers'?
3) If we do have to go through international arrivals in CAN & then fly on a domestic flight CAN/WUH, do we need to go though International Departures in WUH on our way to FCO?
Many thanks, Andrew

1. Andrew, you are eligible for the 24 hour direct transit in PRC because the total transit time is less than 24 hours.
2. The flight CAN/WUH is a domestic flight! You need to go through the immigration in Guangzhou.
3. You don’t need to go though the immigration in Wuhan.

Thank you Paige - from you answer, am I correct in saying that there are no departure procedures in Wuhan? Is it a re-fuelling stop?
