About:Xian Bus/Metro Search Tool

I want to go to Luoyang to see the Longmen Grottoes.

Do I have to book the fast train to go there? Does this train leave from Xi'an North Railway Station and if so, how much will the taxi fare from Jiaotong University to the station cost please? Someone said it was a very long distance. Is this true?

Actually, you don't have to book the tickets in advance. Just buy the ticket on the spot upon arrival.
Yes, the bulllet trains depart from North Railway Station. It is just about 12mi (20km) from the university. The taxi fare may be around CNY 50. Or, you can take bus line 45 from Xingqing Park to Bell Tower. Then, take metro line 2 to North Railway Station. :)
