taiyuan airport to taiyuan south bus station

What is the best or cheapest way?  Would I need to take an airport bus to Wuyi square and get a taxi from there? My purpose is to get to Pingyao.

You don't have to make a transfer. Just take bus line 201 from the airport to Jiannan Bus Station for CNY 2. Then, you can take a bus to Pingyao. The buses are available from 8:00 to 17:00 at hourly intervals, and the fare is CNY 55.
