About:China Student Visa

I have got admission letter from an International School in Shanghai

my course will officially start on26/9/2016 - 31/3/2016 but I will be going to Shanghai on 17/9/2016.

Hence do I need to apply my visa for more than six months?

Do I need to apply before entering to Shanghai or get it done in my country.

Jenny, if your admission notice states the length of the course, it's hard to get an X1 type which is more than six months. You can only apply for an X2 type that allows you to stay in China for 180 days at most, but don't worry, you can extend your X2 before it expires when you re in China.

It's better to apply for it in your country.
